La Standings Reale

Freddy isn't the guy.

Which sucks, because he's not a bad goalie and finding "the guy" is going to be a pain in the ass. But Freddy isn't it.

Tandems. Increase your odds of having a hot goalie. Freddy's dips tend to be more extreme than the norm but they're not at all uncommon across the league. Find two kinda okay guys that can go on a run and call it a day. Play the odds that one will be hot when you need him most.

looking at recent cup goalies, I don't think there's such thing as "the guy" anymore.

Yep. There isn’t a Roy or Brodeur that will win you a cup. It’s so important to have two competent goalies.

thats the one thing in common between basically every single recent cup winner.

Yeah, we’ve got three games against Florida and three against Tampa. So our fate within the Atlantic division is definitely in our own hands.

As far as the wider playoff picture goes, we’ve also got two games left against Carolina and one against Columbus.

And if worse comes to worse in the Atlantic division race, I really can’t imagine that the Leafs will finish behind either of Columbus or Carolina by the time the season’s over.

Been to enough Florida games this season to say they really are no joke. Their problem has been inconsistent goaltending, sound familiar?

They can run and gun with other teams. It won't be easy taking all 3 from them.

I still don't really think the Leafs will be battling for a playoff spot by the end. I think they'll probably be in a pretty comfy position at the end of the next 10gms or so, with a chance to make a run at the elite teams heading into the final quarter of the season.

Agreed. I don't really have any fear of Florida, Carolina, Columbus or Philly.

I'll be surprised if, by the end, the Leafs haven't distanced themselves for that pack and are battling with Tampa for home ice.

Florida is the one team I think you’re underestimating in your statement.

They’re a good team, don’t get me wrong. I think they’ll finally get back into the playoffs this year.

I just don’t think they’re good enough to keep pace with the Leafs the rest of the way.

Like every team it’ll depend on their goaltending. Like the Leafs it’s been very inconsistent.

If you look at our numbers overall for the season, they look pretty close... but then the Keefe numbers kinda blow them away. I think I'd go with LeafGM's assessment at this point.

GF/GP
Florida - 1st (3.67)
Toronto - 3rd (3.63)
Toronto under Keefe - 1st (4.03!)

GA/GP
Florida - 26th (3.27)
Toronto - 25th (3.25)
Toronto under Keefe - 23rd (3.18)

PP%
Florida - 5th (24.5%)
Toronto - 6th (23.7%)
Toronto under Keefe - 1st (30.3%)

PK%
Florida - 24th (78.1%)
Toronto - 25th (76.9%)
Toronto under Keefe - 13th (81.5%)

Habs are really pissing me off. Less than 5% chance at a spot and they keep playing .500.

Petry 4 assists and Price with the shutout. Trade them.
