And then of course there is the obvious...if those guys are off fighting rural crime, who is doing their jobs? Alberta is already lax on heavy vehicle enforcement, this will just make it worse.

Someone is getting shot

Wildlife officers have the ability to come into your home without a warrant.

Cops dont.

Wonder if the cops will love this, because it will become an open invitation for any law enforcement to enter because of the threat of violence of the officers in question.

We want to find out what is going on in that home ... send in the wildlife officials, and they can say they feel threatened, there by needing the police to escort them.

It will be a mess ..... I could just see a ministry of transport officer, coming up here to investigate a crime ......

Do the words fuxkoff and get off of my property mean anything to you lololol.

Yeah, it's going to be a huge mess. If wildlife enforcement shows up for any reason other than wildlife enforcement, they're bound by the same rules as the police, but they don't have training in those rules.

Someone is going to get shot. Either an untrained enforcement officer entering into a situation they shouldn't (and a cop is trained not to) or some random hillbilly because an armed transport officer got jumpy.

So pleased with my decision to move away from that shit show of a province.

Yes. Couldn't get out of alberta fast enough.

Thankfully, my 2nd tour in Alberta was during the Notley years, so the crazy legislation was kept to a minimum. Obviously though, that couldn't be allowed to continue for reasons.

Thats nothing. In the US Game Wardens are responsible for dealing with the Mexican Cartel grow ops on public land.

Yeah, they've militarized the fuck out of the game wardens

Yeah, I got out in 2016, so I I'm happy that I only had to deal with Notley.

My 2nd tour was 2014-2018 so I caught the end of the decrepit clown show that was the Redford/Prentice years, but thankfully missed out on all of the Kenney election, including it's run up. There was just a slow sense of pending doom as the province got crazier and crazier for no fucking reason at all about Notley. It was time to go.

Jury is still out though, for me anyways , who is worse, Kennedy or Ford?

Toss up, but context is key here. Ford only has so much he can do in Ontario. We're not a conservative province at all and don't seem to be too willing to put up with his bullshit before the protests start. Kenney gets carte blanche to bring the fuckery in Alberta, and that's scary.

Kenney would be my pick for which one is worse out of the two.

Both he and Ford are evil, but Ford is more of a dumb, ham-fisted kind of evil rather than Kenney's cunning, cold, calculated evil.

Kenney's also a true believer when it comes to hard-core social conservatism. As a self-loathing, closeted, gay, devout Catholic, he'd probably toss the gays into forced conversion-therapy hard labour camps if he believed he could get away with it.

Oddly enough, Kenney gave trudeau a ton of credit today for fighting for the transmountain pipeline.

And thank the lord, the federal court of appeal shot down the appeal 3-0.

I'm all for reconciliation but to give every first nations group a veto would be economic suicide.

Canada has no idea how to deal with native activism. Ever since Oka every Canadian government has been handcuffed when first nations start to shut down critical infrastructure.
Near as I can tell, more first nations people support the pipeline than are against it. The elected first nations people officials support it. All the extent of signing agreement/contracts. It's only the hereditary chiefs that are against it (and the 'usual suspects' in these protests).

Everything you just posted doesn't mean anything.

99.99 percent of first nations couod agree on something and railways would get shut down and ports blocked because that 0.01 percent made a fuss.

And then, just like now, canadians get that stuck in the headlights reaction and don't know how to react.
