Les Habitants Prospects Thread

For a kid who needs to get bigger and stronger this is the best situation....more off ice workouts will be beneficial for him

It might just be me, but I don't think a player would have the balls to do what Vesey did with one of the top franchises in the league.

It's easier to be like Vesey or Hyman when you're blowing off a team with no real history to it, but to be a noteable prospect and do it to Montreal or Toronto?

So you're saying there's a good chance that Caufield won't sign with us?

He getting any better? I know he has a good shot but what's going on with the rest of the skillset?

I read an article months ago that his play without the puck has improved and physically was getting stronger

Great shot and solid skater

Might be a boom/bust type but the skill is there to work with

Skill wise and scoring upside for forwards I put him right after Cole

Not sure if he can play for Laval next year ?

I think his Finnish team released him for good when they let him join Laval at the end of this season? Too bad we didn't get a chance to see him play here.

He'll make it but I'm not sure what is upside will be.

True , but he is one of the few skilled guys we have drafted in a while that has top 6 upside

The problem is many of these skilled finesse players drafted now are boom/bust types unless your the top players

Many cant transition to the bottom 6 because their skills arent transferable

They wont get PP time and are not penalty killers or physical role players .......ie Hudon types

Years ago you could take a 90 + point Skrudland in junior and slot him on the bottom 6

The game was physical and those checkers and scrappers were needed on your team , they played a key role

We'll see how his play translates to North America.

Ylonen is one of those guys that has interesting potential, but a lot will depend on how his game is adapted to North America & the pro game here. I don't think we'll be seeing him in the lineup for a minimum of a year & a half.

Mattias Norlinder is doing what I was hoping he would. He's apparently got a verbal agreement to join Frolunda next season.

Incremental progress. Good. Let's see how he does in Sweden's top league.
