OT: Post Corona - What Will Change?

Bed is a no for me also so they sleep with the kids. Mine are allowed on one particular couch and they stick to that.

maybe the tag-along-dog is her screening mechanism, to weed out any potential suitors who aren't as in to pups as she is?

Could have been. I doubt it though. I think they assume everyone loves their dogchild. I might agree if it was a daytime date, like meeting for coffee in the early afternoon. Then I could see, sure, someone wants to bring their dog along and have it chill beside us. But to propose it last minute (like literally an hour before, if I recall) and when the agreed plan is to go to a bar, I mean, what the fuck are you supposed to do instead at that time of night. Really the only other thing is to get together at one of your homes, which I doubt she was waiting for me to propose. As my friend said, it was just a totally stupid ask with a stranger when the plans are to go out late.

Probably fair enough.

For me, the big issue is dog in the bed or on the furniture. a lot of dog owners have no problem with this.

Totally disgusting. I see here and there people's dogs use the bed as their own even when the owners aren't in it. But regardless, any time they're in there, you're sleeping with filth personified. All the smell, hair, sweat, germs (maybe an occasional piss or shit) they bring into the bed. It's so incredibly unclean, that it honestly really shapes my opinion of a person when I hear they do this. And by the way, it's all over the apps. Girls post pics in their beds, with the dogs, pics of the dogs licking their face and lips. Like it's a selling point. Horrifying.

Dude, chicks tend to love dogs. For many it’s a package deal. You’ve just cut your viable pool by 75% easily.

the dog probably sauntered into the room for the photos following a good long slobber on its own junk and butthole.

I don't mind dogs to pet them and play with them and they're fun and all that stuff, but the pervasive doggy smell really bothers me and I'll be goddamned if my bed smells like that too. no fucking way.

at least cats physically don't stink (usually) and its ok to have them in the bed (although I have no problem booting the little fucks off the edge if they heat up my feet or start clawing my leg in the middle of the night because they're cats)

Yeah, I had one bring her dog along, but it was a beautiful afternoon coffee walk along the waterfront, so sure, no issues there. But yeah, if you can't stay apart from your pet for a few hours, you have problems. At least a cat you can go away for the weekend. I couldn't imagine dealing with a dog, basically needing a sitter if you had an after-work event.

I know. It’s a big problem. Either I need to find one of the few that doesn’t want one or just one that doesn’t have one and can be convinced to go without. Not an easy task.

Most people are away from their pets all day at work so a decent amount of guilt kicks in when going out on the weekend. If a place is dog friendly I don’t see an issue with bringing the pooch along.

I honestly can’t recall being at a bar type place at night and seeing a dog there whether indoors or outdoors. I mean, maybe at some family restaurants or something, but not exactly date spots. Anyway, let’s just say she was nuts to suggest that and call it a day.
