Also, Habs drafting a goalie will unleash a 1000 angry Rolex posts on Kopitar 2.0. Nobody needs that right now.

Realize it’s heresy in these parts but IMO Stutzle is the best pure talent in this draft & will likely end up the Elias Pettersson of this draft class.
 
You can't take him over Lafreniere. Lafreniere is NHL ready. He'll be a Huberdeau type player in a few years.

I agree... you absolutely have to take him #1.

Whoever gets Stutzle at 2 or 3 might be looking pretty great in a few years though.
 
I think Byfield is a no-brainer at #2.....watching him play, I’d even consider taking him over Lafreniere.

A 6.4 center with speed....bro, come on now

But but but...Lafreniere should go #1 (I’m writing this in case someone reads this post in 5 years)

I have Byfield with a very slight edge over Alexis

He played in the best junior league in the world and put up similar numbers .

Remember , he is a full year in development behind Alexis , thats huge when making an assessment

As mentioned Alexis is the one player in the top 5 that doesnt reach his elite projection IMO

He needs to become Patrick Kane , top 3 forward of the next decade with an MVP plus numerous all NHL all star teams

Byfield is the total package and takes over from Kopitar one day , no brainer

Could be , would of been nice to see him play in our junior leagues this season

Tough to compare leagues regardless of what he did overseas .

However Seider looks like a steal for Detroit , he might be special as well
 
I realize hockey30 is not exactly the most reliable but there’s a rumor MB & NJD are talking Caufield for the 7th overall + 10th overall - with NJD counter-offering #17 vs #10.

Just playing along for giggles, if 7 & 10 could net say Perfetti & Sanderson that would be quite the haul towards a rebuild.

Still think you keep Caufield, the Habs have nobody with that release, not even close.

Yeah, I keep Caufield. Can you imagine having Lafreniere and Caufield on the wings? KK would be able to rack up some points in the middle.

Wow, tough call but I would do it if both are available or Rossi and or Drysdale
