GDT #5 - AUG 9, 8pm, SN - What is he doing?

Anderson was signed with the idea that he would make that position stress free — “set it and forget it”

it hasn’t worked out that way, so you might as well take a chance on a tandem, plus a cheapo option.

Yep. The tandem is right. You don't need 1 goalie that can play at a good level for 50-60 games. You need 2.

And Campbell is a big risk as one of them.

Andersen was supposed to be Trulieve but turned out like Aphria.

Yeah I'm a lot less bullish on him than most here. He's more of an unknown for me than anything. Hasn't proven much one way or another.

*shrug* he's a credible backup signed for a reasonable cost. I have no expectations to believe otherwise at this point.

Lehner is a nutjob, but outside of one bad year in Buffalo he has been consistently really good.

After him there is much less certainty in the market.

Some coaches/GMs like the idea of a franchise #1 keeper. I probably prefer having multiple options.

Quality over quantity for me. So I prefer a #1.

Best to have one really good option than two lesser options to rotate.

I don't have any concern that we would have trouble moving Freddy.

The only concern is who Dubas replaces him with. Campbell, Sparks, Hutchison and Neuvrith?
I disagree. I don't think he'll be easily moved unless you leave him exposed in the expansion draft.

More likely that he's used as a backup for the year but then you need to bring in a #1 or at least a 1A.

Data is starting to show that most goalies can’t maintain peak performance playing 60+ games

UFA's
Khudobin - .930
Lehner - .920
Talbot - .919
Markstrom - .918
Crawford - .917
Greiss - .913

Were all better than Freddy this season.

For trades, Pittsburgh might look to move Murray if we're looking at a reclamation project coming off of a down season.
Murray played well to a point this playoff but also let in a couple of muffins. Hence Jarry was inserted.

Murray was a big reason Habs won. His rebound control was non existent. Plus muffins baked fresh daily.

what you need is a couple of Terrascends. And a CBII (a low priced underachiever with upside) as your #3.
I don't know what's worse, zeke's incessant xgf posts, my Askarov plugs or the two of you using trading jargon to analyze hockey.
