Hey Nerds: Blockchain

Oh...you're one of those guys. Just in it for the calories...with a little variation.

Not because I want to. I've been 6"0 since I was 13, and at that time weighed maybe 130. Meaning then, that I was invincible. I used to have a nice fat dinner on Saturday nights, watch the Leafs game, then go drinking with my friends till 2 am, and then hit up the Burger King at Steeles and Bathurst at like 2:30 am for the original chicken I still love today. I'd eat massive subs from Mr. Sub, I'd have pasta and pizza all the time. AND I WOULD LOSE WEIGHT. It actually pissed me off because I wanted to add more to my frame.

Then I gradually filled out to like 160 or so. At my first job during law school, where I started to perfect my trademark style of sitting at a desk in front of a computer all day, I started to notice that my shirts were tightening up around the collar. I fiercely questioned my dry cleaner about this, and he denied having changed any process to shrink my clothes. And then one day at lunch, where I would routinely get a turkey burger and fries every single day, I thought...wait, what if it's the turkey burger??? I went home and tried on older shirts that I hadn't worn in several months and THEY WERE SMALLER TOO. This concluded my investigation into my dry cleaner. At 23, I had officially started to become prone to gaining weight.

So I put an end to the turkey burger madness and started eating a little lighter. Just some moderation. Then, years later, maybe at like 33-35, I started noticing a bit of a gut, and as a life long lean guy, I didn't like that. So, I kinda went all the way (I'm not one to dip a toe) and cut out bread and rice almost entirely from my diet. Very very difficult. Was weak for like a month until finally my body got used to it. I had a relapse a couple of years in, but I experimented a little by seeing what cutting out one of the two while keeping the other would do. I found the bread was way, way worse than the rice.

Today, I have very little of either, and pretty much just stick to my boring diet, with a couple of cheats. Recently I've been susceptible to more cheats. I've been having more Diet Coke (which used to be a once a week thing) and a cookie here and there. I don't LOVE what I eat consequently, but at 42 I have kept in shape with this diet and some minimal exercise. I would love to have pizza every day, but alas this is the sacrifice I must make.

I'm confident that I can grab a big chunk of any decent sized correction (like I did a few weeks ago) if/when it happens.

No need to drain my emotional capital or lose long opportunities by being the first to short.

I also weighed 135lb as a 6 foot teen. What a nightmare!

Bread/Pizza is too good for me to pass up. Years ago, I tried a month long experiment where I didn't eat wheat Monday to Friday. Didn't lose weight (wasn't my goal) but definitely had more energy and no longer needed my afternoon coffee. I extended the experiment for another 5 months.

But now I'm back to eating bread all the time. And pasta 2-3x week. I enjoy it too much.

How old are you? What has the impact been to your weight (any exercise)?

By the way, I like bread more than candy, maybe as much as ice cream. It's a major sacrifice.

Man those were some big buys on green pinky. Looks like they may not be done. I'm still haevy on them but heavier on TRUL now so hopefully she catches up!

As for diets.. I'm blessed I guess. I've always been a twiggy alien and I am now into my 30's. But I eat trash in moderation. Chips are my weakness but if they're not in the house they aren't an issue.

Older than you. I weigh myself infrequently and it's always between 158-161lbs. I can still fit into clothes form two decades ago. Minimal exercise (started jogging 3x week during Covid) Should do more of it, frankly.

Your Triglycerides must be wacky. I know mine are due to love of bread.
