I know you use a Russian name on here, but really enough with your Russian jock sniffing.

Are you or have you ever been a member of the communist party?

We were leading until 5 minutes left when Kovalchuk scored and then they won in OT
Ovechkin is the best guy in that group. Malkin is third. The two of them will wreck all to hell in the Olympics.

Now there is more to a team then these two, but do not compare them to Iggy or Getzlaf. Not even close.

Brodeur will be ok...

everyone stop your whining....we have the best goalies in the world...

we are fine....it's not like Nabokov has been that much better this year than Brodeur....it's not like Lundquist is burning the league either

Have you watched the games tonight?

Yeah, he's the best goalie but he's going through a rough period. It's not like he can snap his fingers and make it stop.

I think you are allowed to make squad changes right up until the puck drops... at least that is what the russians seem to be doing.

Price still has a shot.

I think Canada'll be fine, even if Niedermayer falters, which I think is a very real possibility. We have a defense that's good enough to mask our potential goaltending deficiencies.

As long as Bob doesn't start, we should be ok.

Getzlaf got hurt again last night, MRI scheduled for today.

Would suck if he missed the Olympics, but I wonder who would replace him.

B.Richards? Carter? Stamkos? Lecavalier? St Louis?

I could only think of Miller possibly being better than Bob and Marty, and even then, it's not by much. We will win the gold easily. No need to worry.

Yep, you're right.... I watched it on tv last night and it was a clean hit, just caught him unprepared for it.... at least his injuries aren't serious....

I'd take a guy like St. Louis, who's at over a point per game. Stamkos would be an option as well, leading in goals. Wouldn't even be surprised if they brought along a guy like Burrows, who's had a huge run since the Olympics, and plays for the home team.

Bergeron is garbage. He shouldn't be on the team over Richards so I'd like to see him replace Getzlaf.

Problem is, after those names, the rest of the lineup isn't amazing.

Just on defence, Beside Markov and Gonchar, the bottom 4 on D aren't All Star Stellar to start with. Their bottom 2 lines also aren't that amazing.

Which is where Canada actually shines. Maybe their first line is better than ours, but our bottom 2 lines are way better than theirs and I believe, despite being young, that our D corp is also better than theirs.

Still think we are better in net than they are.

Can't wait for the Olympics to begin.

Then we get to actually evaluate the teams, instead of just speculating.

Why would you compare Ovie and Malkin to Iggy and Getzlaf?

You compare them to Crosby and Thornton/Iggy/Marleau/Nash/Heatley or whoever else you think the second best Canadian player is.

Comparing the top two lines and top defensive pairing is not where you will Team Canada has an advantage.... it's when we can roll out lines like Mike Richards and Toews on the 4th line.
