Habs News & Notes: Regular Season 2019-2020

Drouin is still not 100%...

French media was critical of management this week for rushing Drouin back, when the season is already lost. They might risk him re-injuring his wrist, and being out even longer next time

What does that have to do with seeing that he's healthy enough to play. You know, like this season and playoffs?

He is a complimentary secondary support piece . With the right elite center and a team looking to add a top 6 winger he should fit well

He is locked up for 3 more years at a fair number . If Nero has the cahones to move him there is a deal to be made

Alzner could be instrumental in a free fall. I like the move.
Or maybe he plays really well. Has something to prove.

96 points should be enough to make the playoffs.

Habs have 67, so they need 29 points go get to 96. They have 17 games left, 34 points available.

Go 14-2-1 and they make it.

Alzner knows this too, so I expect him to play his heart out.

Your losing it

Hudon was called up on an emergency recall; Drouin is out with an ankle injury.

So this is the thing that sucks with management: Hudon has been very successful on the PP in Laval. You call up a player, make him play where he's had success, not burying him on the 4th line with no PP time.

I say this knowing full well that Hudon doesn't have the speed or talent to be a regular NHL player, but at least TRY to use him where he can succeed. Because if you're taking a PP specialist from Laval, to play him 4th line, might as well call-up a 3rd-4th liner to play there, not Hudon.
