How can they say it was a mistake? They turned on the missile defense system and didn’t ground commercial flights. What did they think would happen?
What I heard is that it is up to individual airlines to ground their flights. Most airlines had grounded or diverted their flights away from Iran.
I don’t mean to blame the victims but Ukraine seems to have a record of allowing flights in dangerous airspace.
It is still early in the investigation but Assuming the flight was shot down I get the feeling that there will be enough blame to go around.
I mean, where is a flight from Tehran supposed to go if not through Iranian airspace?
The big challenge will be what Canada does to react. The flight was 2/3 en route to Canada, but obviously was not planned as a direct attack on Canada. But I seriously doubt that we want to get into the thick of this whole conflict. Definitely stuck between a rock and a hard place on this.
