OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Full Court press reminds me of an old Malcolm Gladwell podcast where he described basketball strategies that worked but were underused because coaches didn’t want to put themselves out there because they feared being ridiculed if the strategy didn’t work.

The amount of group think in professional sports is kind of crazy. You would figure that in an environment where any competitive edge can be the difference between winning a title or now, that there would be more experimentation, more novel approaches to common problems. It's the opposite though, where orthodoxy reigns supreme because heaven forbid you try something new and it not work the first time, and immediately.

Lowry back but Ibaka out.

So no Gasol or Ibaka vs KAT.

Should be interesting.

Stats say Boucher deserves way more minutes and Ibaka less, so this is a nice test.

So that cop is now suing Masai.

Strickland is also suing the Raptors organization, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment (MLSE) and the NBA, arguing that "they knew, or should have known" that Ujiri "had a violent predisposition and propensity for physical violence."

Sorry Alan, Masai being black isn't enough here. Try harder

The suit claims Ujiri’s actions were “foreseeable” based on what it cites as Ujiri’s “previous altercations involving similar circumstances.” The Raptors, Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment and the NBA were also named in the suit. They’re all accused of failing to warn the plaintiff of Ujiri’s “violent predisposition” and “propensity for physical violence prior to his assault on (Strickland).”

The suit, which seeks medical expenses, lost wages and other damages, also accuses the defendants of failing to “provide adequate safety and security to the public” and “failing to post signs warning of danger, including the danger of Masai Ujiri.”

The odds of Masai Ujiri warning signs becoming a thing on the internet have now become non zero.

Please, please let this man submit "fuck Brooklyn" into evidence of Masai's violent predisposition.

Your honor, the plaintiff would like to call their first expert witness to speak towards Mr Ujiri's predisposition to violence
