OT:World Politics

Obama to the bankers shortly after taking office:
“My administration is the only thing between you and the pitchforks. You guys have an acute public relations problem that’s turning into a political problem. And I want to help. … I’m not here to go after you. I’m protecting you … I’m going to shield you from congressional and public anger.”
Obama at The Wall Street Journal CEO Council circa 2012:
”People call me a socialist sometimes. But no, you’ve got to meet real socialists. (Laughter.) I’m talking about lowering the corporate tax rate. My health care reform is based on the private marketplace.”

Absolutely. Saved the project after the financial crisis. Big hero to the elite.

So despite Obama doing the opposite of at least 5 of the 6 points you just listed to define neoliberalism, he's still a neoliberal.

This is why it's hard to take the word seriously.

Wayward Ditch Pig

I liked the part where they glossed over the fact that Maduro had released a political prisoner and then spun it into Guaido not being happy that a political prisoner was released, because taking political prisoners is completely normal and not worth mentioning that Maduro has been taking political prisoners.

By political prisoners, you mean guys (well, one isn't anymore, but okay) who broke actual laws that do exist for mostly good reasons, that they knew were laws but because they felt that they were serving the greater good, they shouldn't have been punished for? Those political prisoners?
