A little late on this.

Jeff Skinner resigned for 8 years at $9 million AAV.

Congrats ... I guess. That's a lot of dosh for a long time.

Sure is. They overpaid but honestly, what other choice do they have?

We are so thin in forward talent outside of Eichel and Reinhart that we had to keep Skinner. Jeff had all the leverage in this deal. Buffalo needed him and he knew he could get $9 million from them for 8 years.

I will say, people that criticize this deal would have also criticized them for letting him walk. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

We're glad he's back. I think everyone here is, "glad he's back, now what are you going to do to fix the rest of it" mentality.

Oh, I know ... and for the record I love Skinner. He grew up right in front of my eyes and he's impossible not to root for. I wish him the best.
