if they miss the playoffs and the power play is still bad, there will be a complete housecleaning. Coaches , GM gone. Maybe only Ducharme will be retained.

That would actually be a possibility for Colorado. But you have to find a GM who will value Drouin more than what he shows right now.
Bergevin pulled a suprising good one for Galchenyuk. Maybe he can do the same for Drouin.

Apparently there were serious discussions with Avs re: Drouin in the summer, but broke down when the Kadri deal went down.
Sakic will get ahead of the curve IMO
He has a solid cap for 3 years with tons of cap coming off the books and I can see him flipping EJ and and Landeskog
I would say if they only miss the playoffs period, no secondary reason needed to fire MB and his crew

I didn't thought making the playoffs was especially important this year. Would it be worth sacrificing a good prospect to get immediate help to make the playoffs?

Like I asked on a previous thread , we have Caufield and Suzuki both ranked in the top 20 of league prospects A level types

We aren't one move away from winning anything in this league so keep developing and when you are ready to contend then see a game changing move .
If you were shopping Suzuki what do you want GW ?
What you are seeing unfolding now is what most of us were saying years ago
We should of been more aggressive rebuilding and dumping vets sooner to get future assets to build with , rather than keep
patching a losing outfit
The end result is missing the playoffs 3 out of 4 years and 4 out 7 with only 3 rounds won in 7 years under Nero
We are now in retool phase , this was the expected outcome that could of been helped with a few more A level kids ready to contribute by now.

I'd want one of the Tkachuks.
But yes I agree, but I feel this sentiment at odds with firing the GM if we don't make the playoffs this year. I'd like to make the playoffs, but it's not critical.
