Rumours, Innuendos and Flat out B.S.: 2021-22 Edition

These are the type of risks you take to get a young asset without giving up a ton of asset capital

He was a stud at the WJC , I would be on the phone with Gorton hammering a trade

We traded for another bad attitude in Drouin costing us our top prospect , this wont .

Domi was also pegged with bad attitude, like Galchenyuk

I'd absolutely take a flier on Andersson. Skill is skill.

The Rags won't just let him walk for nothing though.

Good decision-making, leadership qualities and advanced understanding of the game…a true three-zone player…defensively responsible, Futureconsiderations.ca 2017
He is an aggressive player who often wins races for loose pucks and he is adept at winning one on one battles, Hockeyprospect.com 2017

he never came out and said i want a trade... so its all hearsay you are saying... i stand by my original point, players who have not proved a thing, who are still wet behind the ears are in no position to ask for a trade... if i was a GM, i pass on any player like that..

A team does its due diligence before you make these moves

Could be a trade demand or a malcontent like JD who was on the block for a good while before he got traded

Sometimes a change of scenery is needed and you work with the player/agent to smooth it out

If a talented young player is available why not explore your options especially if you have the asset and cap capital to make a trade

We have enough vet leadership to deal with youngsters .

one bad apple ...you know that saying.. why waste assets to get a kid with an attitude.. to me any young player who has not proved he can play in the NHL is not in a position to demand a trade.. that is red flags ... pass

Evander Kane seems to have fit in with SJS and gave him a big contract , that's a much bigger risk than taking a
chance on a 20 year kid on an ELC

Isn’t the bad apple tag just an opinion? I’ve read that the kid is actually mature for his age and possesses leadership qualities. Doesn’t sound like a bad apple, it sounds like a kid that’s tired of getting jerked around and wants to make NHL money, not AHL. Looking out for you and your family is not necessarily a bad attitude problem.

So you'd pass on Eric Lindros?

Cool.

In hindsight, sure.

Lindros was seen as a generational, could be all-time-great player.

I would never pass up on trading for a player who would openly say, "I don't want to play here" to his current team. Players have a right to say that, the same way organizations have the right to tell them to pound sand.

I think he would. I would knowing how good the package was that landed Lindros.

Those mega deals could set you back for years if you deplete your prospect and future asset base and leave a player with nothing to work with

Dealing for these ELC kids is a move Nero should be all over 7 days a week

EA isnt going to mortgage anything or cost you the moon
