I can’t blame them too much for Lehner, considering what kind of condition he was in off the ice through his time there.

But the O’Reilly trade was criminal stupidity.

Back then, pretty much every Sabres fans and a majority of non-Leaf fans were convinced that:


Eichel > Matthews
Reinhart > Marner
A.Nylander > W.Nylander
Ristolainen > Rielly


...so it has been pretty damn gratifying to see those guys end up inferior to their Leaf versions across the board & see the Leafs blow by them while the Sabres rebuild is still stuck face-first in the mud.
