It's ok to protest for months or years on end like MLK did.

It's not ok to go into week 2 of looting and hurting people.

What if you couldn't maintain the insurance due to covid? Nothing is cut and dry.
 
If white right wingers are as tough as they talk, if they were being targeted and murdered by cops it would be full blown shootout civil war, never mind looting.

Yeah, they have a tough job. Doesn't mean murdering unarmed people and breaking up peaceful protests with weapons is acceptable.

Then I probably did things to put myself in that situation in the first place. Bad personal financial management, bad business management, etc. Personal responsibility is a hell of a drug.

Regardless though, I wouldn't take the simple and easy route of blaming the looter.

ideally the protests / riots / looting would not happen but civil means have not really changed anything

and as they say - do not let perfect be the enemy of good

The double standard of racism bothers me as much as any other white person can possibly be bothered. I won't pretend to understand how it feels growing up with it daily in my life because I didn't have it that way. I did experience plenty in Quebec being ethnic but that doesn't even compare to what a black person, especially make, in the US born in the 60s like me.

That doesn't mean people can hurt other people because of their frustrations. Some of this is black on black crime, how is that racist?

I'll say it again, the violence needs to stop, on both sides.
 
Yeah I mean we should all focus on the looting, the violence against police and the store owners who have had their stores damaged.

That is more important than systemic lynching of black people and the death of an innocent man who had his neck compressed for 9 minutes for no reason.

White America ladies and gentlemen.

Yeah. You would.

If you were a small business owner that out their life into it you would. You can believe you wouldn't but to me that's like condemning black people for their frustrations. Unless you have real experience with it you can't truthfully opine on your reaction.

Nobody said that and using star man only serves to degrade a discussion. It leaves us where we are, polarized.

Quick observation: you like to take your anger out on my when you get destroyed in your weekly argument on here. I get it. I'm annoying. I'd do the same thing if I consistently got wrecked.
