OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

There are red flags with Hand and hes going to cost a ton. If aim a tier lower on Colome or Rosenthal and Yates on a cheaper incentive deal intrigue me

that said, I could give a fuck about RP at the moment get a Springer, Realmuto, LeMahieu, Castillo, Bauer, Gray, Arenado, Story or Baez. Bryant doesn't cut the mustard of this group and I'm being generous only wanting one. Ideally sign a position player then trade for a SP and if the Reds insist on taking a Moustakas or Suarez, do that. Losers

I know it's hard to be patient, but SS and RP are probably the least important positions for this team to fill with a free agent/trade. I'm not really a huge fan of Springer or Bauer but we may as well use the $54 million towards one of those guys instead.

LeMahieu is great but CF and SP still the most pressing needs.

I think bullpen should be something to look at too. Not as high a priority as CF and SP, true, but all the guys mentioned would be decent options to give a hopefully reliable back-end arm.

3B or whatever Biggio isn't playing is just as important as CF

Don't get me wrong, they should be working their asses off in the analytics dept. to identify relievers, and I don't mind spending money there. Just not $54 million.

My issue at 3B, is either LeMahieu or Biggio a long-term 3B? I like Groshans a lot so if one of these guys can man the position for 2-3 years it could work out in the long run. But Bryant certainly is intriguing.

I'm not sure how good Lemahieu is at 3B, but I think one of him or Biggio could probably cover it. Anyway, Biggio's versatility means that 2B is basically open if they can find an upgrade.

Lemahieu is the type of guy I'd normally shy away from -- into his 30s and hitting FA after a really big year. He would be a really nice fit in this lineup though and I believe he probably has a few more good years left. I also don't think he'll cost nearly as much as Springer.

Nobody would be chirping Shatkins in a vacuum over missing out on Hendriks. It's this being yet another player in a hilariously long line of players we've courted and not landed.

Offseason isn’t over. So many free agents still available. All of the top ones are available. Let’s wait and see how it shakes out for spring training before we get the pitchforks out. This is a pretty big offseason for Shatkins. They can really earn some good will with the fans this offseason.

Its so obvious that they never had any intent on signing Hendriks for what he was asking for, but hilariously leaked that they had the top reliever FA in the building. So aggressive.

Ya,it isn’t the courting - it’s the leaking.

According to the rumours the jays have been linked to “aggressively pursuing” every blue chip FA since 2016, yet none have actually signed here.

Not surprising. They force out the president that built a winning organization, and extend the one who slashed payroll and capital expenses (installing grass).

IMO the Ted Rogers statue is more offensive than any Confederate statues.
