I’ve been thinking of Brisson: 2-issues I see

- leaving his kids w his ex-wife and the Manhattan Beach lifestyle - moreover would he be willing to replace his BFF?

Now what if MB gets moved to Prez and finds a way to convince his BFF to replace him as GM?

I thought he was blocked by Gainey and Gauthier but no, he was hired by TB after Gainey had already stepped down so it was just Gauthier, which explains it, the man is a control freak, he trimmed down the staff everywhere. Fucking Gauthier, his short era was a disaster but I didn't realized it cost us Brisebois too.

Now I'm not sure why we didn't hire him instead of MB in 2012.

Brisebois was promised the GM job by Tampa....they knew Yzerman would eventually leave for Detroit, where his family stayed
 
Speaking of Tampa....Yzerman sure did a good job setting them up for years....and he's gonna do the same with Detroit now
 
BriseBois spoke French too well, as he went to University and never played the game.

He played a little. As I said above, the GM of a hockey team has to at least be able shoot a puck and not look like a spaz doing it. That’s not a super-high threshold.

Brisebois played a little ? He played garage league hockey with his dad and his friends....like almost every kid born and raised in Quebec. Brisebois never actually played competitive hockey....ours kids probably played more competitive hockey than him

Can he shoot the puck without looking like a spaz? That’s all I need from a hockey GM, male or female. And my son plays Bantam AAA . . . but regardless . . .

Yes...i know your kids are very good hockey players.....that's why i said they played more competitive than Brisebois

Only one of them plays hockey. The older one swims. I’m sure that Julien can shoot a puck. What I would not want is some total non-athletic analytics geek in charge. I think you need some sense/understanding of the competitive part of the sport, not just the numbers or metrics that underlie performance. But that’s just me.
