Lineup your lineups: Playoff edition

yeah we're fucking stacked and its amazing.

somehow despite signing the big-3 to big boy deals, and being in 'cap hell', Dubie has built by far the deepest Leafs team in recent memory. fucking impressive stuff.

Foligno -- Matthews -- Marner
Kerfoot -- Tavares -- Nylander
Mikheyev - Nash - Hyman
Thornton - Spezza - Simmonds

How is Nash on defensive zone draws?

I was unimpressed when I looked at his overall mediocre faceoff percentage....48.2% career, 47.6% last 3yrs.

Then I looked at his playoffs numbers...56.1% career, 56.4% last 3yrs.

honestly I'm not even sure he cracks our healthy lineup. I see him more as insurance/added depth. but who knows.

Nash/Mikheyev/Foligno would be a nice shutdown line. not necessarily fulltime, but situationally.

assign whatever number you want to the unit, but with those guys on the ice it should be pretty tough to get offence against us when we need to lock down. Keefe has expressed the desire to have a good checking line. all 3 of them are better defensively than offensively. It's why we got them, let's use them to their strengths.

Last year CBJ v TOR play-in

Centers 5v5

1. Jenner 17:24, 41.7xgf%
2. Dubois 16:38, 48.8xgf%
3. Nash 12:37, 50.3xgf%
4. Wennberg 10:15, 35.7xgf%

TOI Against

Matthews 7:43 (65.9xgf% for matthews)
Tavares 7:25 (61.5xgf% for tavares)
Kerfoot 7:36 (36.6xgf% for Kerfoot)
Engvall 9:58 (21.3xgf% for Engvall)

I mean it wasn't long ago that Nasher successfully took Bergeron's spot on Boston's top line for some stretches.

But yeah, I'd prefer 4th line too. He's better than Engvall though, and Engvall was on the Leafs third line plenty this year.

Thing is, I also don't really think Kerfoot is a good 3C. He's much better on the wing. He even sucked with Mikheyev and Hyman on his wings which is crazy.
yeah 3C and 1G are prolly my biggest 'holes' on the team right now. we have some excellent 4Cs though...

So I wasn’t crazy. Said he sucked at face offs before and you corrected me - couldn’t find anything that looked good lol
