If the Habs play the Islanders in the final, Leafs fans' heads will explode. No matter who wins, Leafs fan loses. They either have to deal with Habs fans owning them for the next 6 months or they have to deal with the fact that the Islanders became a Cup contender just by getting rid of Tavares, who hasn't moved the needle an inch for Toronto (a fact that I, for one, do not intend to allow Leafs fans to forget) The schadenfreude is going to be so thick you can cut it with a knife.

If we were to advance, part of me would like Tampa to beat the Islanders. If we were to then beat Tampa, that would shut up those who claim we only won the cup because we didn't have to face Tampa, or that we faced a weaker team in the finaL (the same thing they whine about in regards to 86 and 93).
But I don't buy that bullshit. To me, the best team is always the team that wins a series. Winning is the only yardstick. With the same logic, the team that ultimately wins the Cup is the best team. All the rest is white noise. All the rest is overanalysis.
So come on Islanders. And we have to beat Vegas.
