OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Ya there's nothing mediocre about any of this:

18 (A): 2.53fip, 2.24xfip
19 (A+): 2.46fip, 2.93xfip
20 (AA): 3.80fip, 4.10xfip

All fantastic numbers for a guy 2yrs young for each level, which is why he's ranked as a top-60 prospect by everyone at the tender age of 20.

But jumping on a 4gm skid like this is pretty adorbs.
I said SWR is a good prospect with poor results this year. Not really much to argue about there, IMO. If it makes you happy that he had 5 good games before he had 5 bad games, then congrats, I guess.

4 bad games. Adorbs.

This is a very weird discussion since we all have access to the same stats. I really didn’t intend to hurt any feelings.

Anyway, fair to say the Stroman trade has worked out nicely for the Mets so far. I actually like Kay still despite some poor showings. His stuff is decent.

Don’t worry. You can’t hurt zekes feelings. Only thing that ever hurt the guy was when joe Bowen called ray scampanello veal scallopini.

Kay is 26 and has an ERA over 5, WHIP over 1.6, at both MLB and AAA.

His only moderately interesting milb season when he finally reached AA at age 24 and took advantage of an unsustainable .222 babip.

Pure poop.

20yr old with dominant milb performance at a very young age.

I’m not selling him short as a prospect. The reality is he’s statistically unlikely to be a good mlb pitcher, although he definitely has the stuff to be one.

Pearson has a sports hernia now, to continue the injury train.

Although sounds like when that's cleared up, they'll use him in the pen down the stretch, so that will be exciting to see how long it takes him to adjust and then see him help out late innings on the big club.

A broken Pearson is still top 3 in our bullpen.

Reading up a bit too, sounds like it's more that the hernia is what has been troubling him recently, not necessarily a new thing to deal with. But yeah, especially if his stuff can play up in the pen or he doesn't run into big control issues, definitely one of our potential top arms.

A couple of weeks ago they were saying Pearson had a lingering groin injury but they thought it might be something underlying. Maybe this is it. He is supposed to start throwing soon and if this forces him into a bullpen role for the rest of the year, that's just fine by me. Let him give starting another try next Spring.

that one has carpenter written all over it.

like carpenter, he won't be ready for the bigs until he's a 27 year old FA.
