Rumours, Innuendos and Flat out B.S.: 2021-22 Edition

Suzuki, Dvorak, Evans, Perrault/Poehling is a decent set of centres. Especially is Suzuki is a legit top line centre.

Not finishing last

We are not going to finish last but most likely will be lottery bound unless 31 spits nickels every game

Our D stinks and will be gassed out by the end of year forcing every one to play a notch higher than their ability .

I like Dvorak but he isnt moving our needle anywhere

If you want C depth go get a middle 6 player on the cheap for a lower pick and move on

Ottawa was looking to dump Tierney , other teams are capped out .....there are options

If your prepared to give up those picks , add more and get a better option if available

A first for Dvorak makes no sense to a add a 40-45 point player on this roster as constructed

Just because Dvorak was 40-45 pts player w Yotes doesn’t mean the ceiling isn’t higher with a much deeper & stronger team than the Yotes with the Habs are - could easily be a 50-55 pts C on Habs.

Plus one of his big strengths is scoring from the bumper on the PP, which the Habs have desperately been looking for.

Now what the Yotes asking price vs what they’ll settle for, I’ve got no idea, but if there’s one are I’ve got 100% confidence in MB is not getting raped on giving up too much asset wise

The whole reason for getting Dvorak in the first place is because we don't have depth. I don't see him scoring more in Montreal than he did in AZ. Historically, a player's offensive numbers usually dip as soon as they put on a Habs jersey.

A 40-45 two way center is easily worth a 1st in this league. Especially signed for years on a reasonable contract.
If your giving up those 2 picks , just match the offer sheet

Play his ass off and hope he pans out as a legit 2C and revisit next year

Dvorak is 26 in February , there is no major upward trajectory with him

I like him but build a deal not including Carolina`s first

I think it comes down on how we perceive the value of Carolina's first. Given Carolina's team, and our draft record, I don't value it very much. But it's not lottery protected so it's a bit of a lotto ticket. However we can protect it when trading it.

Maybe we should make a move for Hertl instead. Pending UFA, but he does have some offense. Curious what an extension would cost us.

I'd expect a larger cost of acquisition and a much larger contract IF we could re-sign him. Would love to have him though.

Canes dumped their solid goalie tandem from last year and 2 players who have to reprove themselves

Norris caliber D gone , they are one Slavin injury away from hurt

If everything goes wrong for them it's probably a mid-teen pick. If everything goes well it's a mid-20s. So in short, about 13-25th range IMO. Around 20ish most likely.

And I will take my chance it’s 13-15 or better depending on the ping pong balls

Good Miller put it best yesterday , “ I would take a chance on that pick “

With a regular schedule some teams who got in will not make the playoffs

Any team that loses a Norris caliber D , and their entire successful goalie tandem is a risk worth taking if we don’t match.
