OT: The News Thread

The "experts" on the Zodiac Killer message board don't buy it haha, and he's definitely not a well-known name. The evidence they presented today does seem a little flimsy, but they hinted at a lot more so it will be interesting to see where this goes from here.

The scars are pretty compelling IMO. I do know Zodiac's stamps had DNA and they did not match Arthur Lee Allen. That will prove it if they can.

Their argument makes sense, which is that at least as far as the composite is concerned, are those scars or just furrowed brow lines drawn by the police artist? That picture (to the best of my knowledge) is based on (a) a couple of kids who looked out of a 2nd floor window across the street from the taxi where Zodiac wiped the door handles, reached into the cab to grab a piece of shirt, and walked away (in the evening), and (b) two police officers who drove past a man walking away from the scene and later realized it was almost certainly Zodiac. Neither seems like they got a close enough look to accurately describe lines on his forehead.

It'll be good to see the breakdown of the letter because they are saying his full name appaers in it. It's always been thought in the codes the kiler revealed his name

Yeah, they mentioned that but I guess they didn't show the full details? Not sure what they made public today.

Here the "scars" comparison:

Ears look right. Hairline looks right. Mouth right. Chin right. Nose a bit off.

I'm pretty sure a sketch artist doesnt draw in heavy forehead creases unless they were specified. That would be weird.

The other problem is that they say it's the "amended" pic, but they actually used the original. In the amended one, the forehead lines are quite de-emphasized. (The fact that they labelled the original as the amended pic is also pretty sloppy). I do agree the features are pretty close, though.

I seem to remember somebody here posted this before (just can't remember who)
