2021-22 Season Hurricanes Misc. Thread

The Habs looked at the schedule that the NHL published and told the league something they didn't notice ... which is the most NHL thing imaginable.

And you can hardly call this tattling or ratting somebody out seeing as how the league knew this already and just didn't care until somebody complained.

So if the Habs really 'told on the Canes' to the NHL, that means they were oblivious to the fact that the NHL had offered provisions for teams to request an exemption to the minimum of 6 pre-season games. That would just make the Habs look dumber than rocks and raise questions as to whether or not they are paying attention.

I dunno, that sound like it might be too far fetched to believe, even if its the Habs.

I think the Habs angle was more click driven then reality. (I could be wrong)
Anyway from what I can tell there's not even a real penalty so..

Something just doesn’t add up here. I could care less if the Habs mentioned it. It would seem crazy to me that we wouldn’t know this or make the decision to play less games than the CBA dictates without an exemption.

Players don’t like them, it’s there so the owners can maximize revenue. If an owner chooses to eschew the income, it’s not like anyone else should get their underwear up in a wad. Habs are just being cute. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next CBA changed to “up to” six games.

The whole things looks like the kind of stuff Serevalli used to dabble in at his old job before he got fired and emerged on the other side of the pandemic as some sort of leak machine.

Any STM'S get their card/badge yet? Clock is sort of ticking....
No. But if you didn’t get it, it’s in Caniac Account Manager. You have to scroll all the way beyond the last tickets for the season. Once you find it, you can save it in your Apple or Google Wallet. It’s just one more PITA to deal with though.

I get it ... they want to wait as late as possible to include people who by season packages late in the process, but the USPS is so fouled up right now that the Canes really just have let that shipping process rip about 6 weeks ago. Alternately, they could have offered pickup at the box office as a shipping option.

One thing I just remembered too…at the STM kiosk, they little cards with a QR code that could be scanned to get the discount. But like the digital card, it’s something else that shouldn’t be necessary.

I had a random UPS shipment pop up on my notifications last week and thought it was the card, it was coming from a logistics company. Alas, it was my allotment of wine from Vineyard 36 instead.

I know that a prior email mentioned scanning something for the 15% concession discount, but is that also keeping track of our food credit?

I could call me rep and ask ... but the dude already hates me and I don't really care. I guess they'll get it sorted out eventually, although I guess they expect female ticket holders to just jam the card into their bras or something. Seeing as they they aren't allowing bags of pretty much any kind. My wife is ... displeased.

It will be interesting to see if Josh Leivo clears waivers. Even if he clears, he might not necessarily get sent down to the minors. But the Canes will at least have that in their back pocket if/when needed.

Is today the day when everyone tries to sneak everybody through waivers all at once? If so, there are bound to be some interesting names on the waiver wire. The Athletic had a little blurb saying that some GM's like to try and sneak someone through because it's the day with the most traffic on the wire.

There will a huge number of new names on waivers today. Seattle will have a substantial list of fringe NHLers they will need to make available.
