While Tampa stands an excellent chance of doing three, and Florida could be a real threat, I'll say New York Islanders will defeat Vegas to win Cup.

Possible with a healthy club. I don't see it happening anymore though. Hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, I have doubts too, but a bunch of teams in that area of the pack who will compete for a playoff spot appear to have issues, including goaltending(Boston,Pittsburgh,Philly, Carolina).Hard to pick among them. So all things being equal, I'll give us one of the spots.

Tampa vs. Colorado. Colorado wins Cup in 7.

Habs will finish 6th ahead of only Detroit and Buffalo. Both the Bruins and Sens will finish higher.

Once again no Canadian-based team will win the Cup.

It's looking that way barring players stepping up. I wonder just how long Allen can be the guy.

4- Ottawa
Again, a nice call. I had them there, but figured not quite yet and dropped them. Goaltending may determine.

Once again, some teams thankfully will not follow the script. I find trying to guess which ones will not is the trick.

You know how banged up they are.
I think this full season, people will realize how solid a coach Dom Dom is - and how out of the box thinking he is wrt to Habs coaches of years past. I get it, not exactly a monumental achievement considering most of the coaches

This is also the deepest forward group I have seen in my entire life watching the Habs since 1980, 4lines able to generate offense is something I have never witnessed as a Habs fan.

The PP and 3-on-3 OT will be significantly improved over previous years, combined with overhype of other teams in the division - TBay, Leafs, Bruins are not as good this season as the benefit of the doubt they seem to overwhelmingly be getting.

Only time will tell of course, and if Price isn’t back by Xmas it’s moot

I think Ottawa's going to be one of those teams that will surprise a lot of people. They've got a looooot of good young players. Outside of Stutzle and Chabot, they might not have any other elite talent (despite what they might think of the soon-to-be $8M 20g/25a powerforward), but boy do they have a lot of good secondary players.

Yes. The deciding factor for me to pick them for the playoffs.

I may not be counting Price's loss as much as some as a factor. He really wasn't last year till the end. And I'm figuring on an eventual return of course.

Having said that, Allen could shit the bed and blow all that coaching from Dom to pieces. He (Allen) will also need help...from somewhere (?).

The seed of the “world hates us & thinks you’re a shit team made up of shitty players” has been planted...

The 88-89 Habs were pretty friggin' deep at forward.

Naslund
Smith
Richer
Carbo
Lemieux
Corson
McPhee
Skrudland
Courtnall
Keane
Walter
Gilchrist
Gainey

And the 92-93 team were no slouch at forward either.

Damphousse
Muller
Bellows
Lebeau
Keane
Savard
Dionne
LeClair
Brunet
Carbo
DiPietro
