The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

It's their styles. I think Dubie has plenty of heart, but he comes from a background where he's probably been deferential all his life, to guys like Lou and Shanny most recently, so he may view himself as the kid in the room who'd be rude speaking back to the adults. Because he frankly is the kid in the room, probably 20 years junior to almost every other GM in the league and NHL execs. It'll take a bit of time, and confidence from winning something outside the first round.

Speaking of Sammy, his career monthly splits are fascinating, Dude is a fucking Vezina monster in October and November.

Good news is, by the time he sucks again, the team should be playing way better. They need him to be this good right now.

Eh remove this October and it looks like he's usually sucked in October.

I’m saying he’s still writing the book on himself, and now he’s on a new team, so I’m not going to read much into a handful of games he played before as a backup on another team.
So you're not gonna read into his 90+ NHL games throughout his career and the first 5 games this year has more importance?

Anyway the trend is clear. His first real month in his rookie year was November where he did .919 SV%. His first real month during the covid season was April and he fired off a .919 SV%. Last year he went .916 in his first 10 games. He has started off hot in his first 4 seasons of his NHL career. This is not new.

But it does tell me he has the ability. Just needs to put it together mentally maybe to stay consistent and not spiral out of control as he has done every single season thus far.

I'm not reading into his 5 games either. That's my point. I'll see what his first season as a starter on the Leafs looks like rather than look at random games separated by month that he played as a backup in Washington.

Besides, word is Samsonov was not willing to work on/change some things while in Washington, his being let go woke him up, he's taking instruction now but supposedly it was going to take some time to get him adjusted.

Not quite random. Only pointing out that he has had hot starts in all 4 seasons of his NHL career. That's it.

What’s his save percentage when sharing a lineup card with Nick Robertson?

that’s the only stat I will defer to
