For Borje - The Toronto Maple Leafs 2023 Stanley Cup Champions Thread

Yeah, I was on board with the trade, the return looked good to me at the time, but Kerf aged badly, Barrie was fucking horrendous, and Kadri then blasted to another level (just in time for the Avs) and then blasted back down (at the worst possible time for the Flames).

Not that we dont have enough reasons to want him fired, but if he kept a healthy Knies out of the lineup "just because"... this would be criminal.

It's the system not the player. Even though yes he's an upgrade. You guys played a real defensive system last night and waited for mistakes and then jumped for odd mans.

This was not done games 1-3.

Outside of the core and ROR, Knies is the only guy that can make plays on their depth. He's such a crucial, crucial component on this roster. Hopefully he's been symptom free for long enough that he can play.

I'm so fucking there if there is one. Already got a ticket lined up.
I'd be interested... unfortunately doesn't seem like I can find a same-day itinerary from Hali on the Sunday that gets me in (comfortably enough) before puck drop, would have to fly in Saturday... prices are right though

FanDuel is now pricing in a leafs series win at a shocking 21%. Win the next one and faith will return. But I still say that game 6 would be the most difficult one to win if they do indeed make it there.

Leaf Cup odds have more than doubled!! From 25-1 (where I bought yesterday) to 12-1 today

I'd trim my position, but I can't!!! #diamondhands

We are 4-1 on the road with our only loss coming in OT. I’d say the hardest game coming up is Game 5. If we win that Florida will be gripping their sticks hard coming back home with the pressure on to end it and avoid a Game 7. We have been dogshit at home so that mental hurdle will have to be overcome on Friday.

Also, Woll looks legit and a legitimate upgrade over Sammy.

You cant win games with .86 goaltending, just not happening. To get a win in a low scoring game was nice for a change.

yeah, I don't think Woll's getting enough credit. I don't think the number of shots that hit him in the chest were a coincidence, he was tracking the play really well and moving calmly and confidently in his net. a LOT less scrambly than Sammy has been so far.

has a big impact on our defensive zone play too.

Never can tell but Woll has passed both the eye and stats test with flying colors all year long now.

Style wise reminds me of Eddie, my favorite leafs goalie ever.

Don't see why that shouldnt continue at least for the short term until the league gets a book on him. There's a reason an inordinate amount of young goalies have gone on long playoffs and cup runs, even if they don't follow them up with great or even good careers.

Can’t comment on how he played last night, but in a very limited sample size in the regular season, Woll consistently looked better than either Samsonov or Murray did at any point.
