But we got Dr. Recchi in return!I was fuming when he got moved , a unicorn back in the day
You can be strong on your skates asking the boards and not he a great skater. To me that's Slaf. He needs to work on many things.they are both strong on their skates.. i am not sure i would agree on this..
Him I never liked that much, although I liked him better than Brisebois, who was a brain-dead moron. But the trade was not a good one. Gave up too much for too little in return, even though Recchi was a good player. And to throw in Desjardins was insult to injury.
Leclair was 25 when we traded him, but otherwise similar first seasons, although with less offense than Slaf. I think skating was very similar, lots of things actually.Slafkovsky does not skate as well as Leclair. I was pissed when they traded Leclair.
I'll be patient with him sure, my point was that drafting Cooley would not have been a mistake though.
Leclair was the throw-in. Desjardins was the key piece. And to throw in Desjardins was insult to injury.
He started at 20 iircLeclair was 25 when we traded him, but otherwise similar first seasons, although with less offense than Slaf. I think skating was very similar, lots of things actually.
Eric Desjardins was an excellent player. What on earth didn’t you like about him?Him I never liked that much, although I liked him better than Brisebois, who was a brain-dead moron. But the trade was not a good one. Gave up too much for too little in return, even though Recchi was a good player.
He joined us at the end of his 4 years college for 10 games at the age of 21. His first full season with us he was 22.He started at 20 iirc
SoffEric Desjardins was an excellent player. What on earth didn’t you like about him?
My memory of him is the ot playoff goal in 93.Soff
I have no time for defemsemen with the size of Desjardins who push and shove but don't hit. Desjardins and Brisebois were big pussies.
The one good game he played. My memory of him is the ot playoff goal in 93.
There also wasn’t a player in the league that didn’t respect him. He was a top pairing guy, sound defensively, contribute offensively, leadership, played hard. He just didn’t need to be a fearsome hitter, he was doing it by positioning, good stick, leverage and skating. There wasn't a player in the league who was afraid of him.
His own team stripped him of the C but okay. There also wasn’t a player in the league that didn’t respect him.
