New Canadian Politics Thread

1,600 in Carleton.

I am not at all up on the voting habits of the specific regions of Carleton....but this sure looks like a thing that's happening, unless there are hardcore Pierre fortress neighbourhoods that haven't reported yet.

That's a pretty big lead with about 40% reported.

Pretty disappointed in us tbh. Outside of Toronto it's feeling pretty 'Berta-ish without the oil right now.
Trying to understand this trend with my family member. There's no doubt the right has taken over social media. We had such an advantage in Obama times, long gone. Obviously there's always gonna be a move towards the other side after one party's been in party for a long time. Trudeau Derangement Syndrome is a real thing.

To be fair, housing is a legit crisis. The wait times in all aspects of our health care system are unacceptable. The economy, while not the dumpster fire they think it is, certainly isn't great either. Carney has to find a way to revamp our economy while at the same time fending off a trumpcession.

In Ontario, looks like many NDPers went PP since “he’s more for the little guy”. probably the young ones.

It was that Wolfman dude on this board who tuned me into to the “sociology” of the parties. Dippers and Cons have more in common with each other than with the Libs.

Really don't think this complaint about the feds holds up that well given Ford gov'ts underfunding in a pandemic.

And there’s some truth to that Jamil Jivani idea that lots of young guys see the Libs as “the man” representing boomers who already have it all…. And we’re definitely seeing that in polling numbers…. So some of it is simply how the cycles of “counter culture” play out in the digital economy
