Around The League - 2025 Offseason

So Laine money?!? :)

It doesn't matter as he won't sign here but I'd take him for big money with the cap rising.
As long as Bennett is accompanying Marner to the Habs

Demigod-Bennett-Marner talk about construction of a 2nd line in a day, capable of offense generation during regular season & playoffs

Canes don’t hand out bonus heavy contracts....

The Canes will sign any player to any contract if they feel he is worth it. Max signing bonuses would not cause any hesitation for the Canes.

The Canes are not likely to value Mitch Marner more than some other team. I don't want him in Carolina, would prefer to spend that $13 million elsewhere.

not sure that counts as a large bonus contract. When we discuss those here, we mean ones like Price's, or Matthews etc where basically 80% is in bonuses,

Take advantage of Marner's guilt. Leafs should offer him one year @6 million, with a 7 million bonus if the Leafs win the cup. 5 million if they make the Final.

85% of Slavin's new contract is signing bonuses.

My main point is that it's incorrect to think the Canes won't do what is necessary to try to sign a player they want. Max signing bonuses is not a blocker for the Canes. Doesn't matter if that is a $6.5 million AAV player like Slavin or Rantenen at $12.5 million AAV.

There is no way Dundon will allow his GM to fork over $80M+ in first 3-4 years of a 7yr -$95M contract. That’s approx what it’ll take to ink Marner to a $91M+ deal

Zero chance…

For Mitch Marner, no. For a "better superstar?" The Canes absolutely would structure the contract any way necessary.

sorry, read it wrong, I thought he was getting half in bonus, my bad

Panthers players comments after the game. "Andersen was unfortunate not to have stopped the puck when we scored. That was the difference in the game. They perhaps deserved a better fate. "
