Only a tiny sliver of NFL players get that much and if it isnt in the form of a signing bonus (which, again, only the elite players get) then it may as well be a kajillion dollars. In the NFL you can sign for $200 million on Monday and be cut and penniless by Tuesday. Aside from bonuses, not one penny of that contract is guaranteed.

Depends on the guaranteed money when they get axed

Many front load and take a big chunk in the first few years then punt their ass out of town

The great thing is the league doesnt work on an AAV , they allocate dollars based on a per year cap

They restructure contracts all the time creating cap space and juggle the complexity of the details

2/3 of the NHL would have been cut way before their contracts expire

Best run system in sports
