OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Official combine:

Player (Age): Height Barefoot / Wingspan / Standing Reach / Weight

Essengue (19): 6'10.0" / 7'1.0" / 9'2.0" / 204.0

Combine Comparisons:

Boucher (24): 6'8.0" / 7'4.0" / 9'2.5" / 182.2
Barnes (20): 6'7.0" / 7'2.75" / 9'0.0" / 225.4
Siakam (22): 6'8.25" / 7'3.25 / 8'11.5" / 226.6
Anunoby (20): 6'6.25" / 7'2.25" / 8'11.5" / 232.4

So Essengue has real height not just head/neck height, so even with his not quite as huge wingspan his reach is still elite. And he's skinny, but not chris boucher skinny, and he's very young.

super fast and twitchy but apparently can't shoot and can't create. ah well.

The 3pt shot needs work and I don't see him being a guy to develop the handles necessary to have a true 1v1 bag, but I don't think he's "raw" in the way guys like Bruno, or Precious were. He's actually pretty advanced at a bunch of the stuff he's good at. He reads the game well, very smooth finisher with some legit skills to beat defenders once he gets down hill. Soft hands, great looking euro step, a functioning push shot in the paint when he does get stopped from getting to the rim, but overally just a good finisher as the roll guy in the P/R who should get better as he gets strong enough to take contact.

His key issues are that he's skinny (weak), but we're not talking Chris Boucher skinny here. We're talking Pascal Siakam when he got to north america skinny. He probably ends up around 220-225. The other issue is that the shot form looks like there's maybe a corner 3 in there, but probably not an off the dribble 3. His FT% and form suggests a middie game isn't remotely out of the question though.

A co worker in USA was listening to a podcast and said Beringer to the Raps was on their mock draft followed by McQueen .

Any thoughts on Beringer
