Habs 2026 Playoff thread

We can’t be disappointed with the season but we invariably will be.

It changes the whole dynamics within and outside the team, which raises the stakes.

we were all expecting them to lose Game 1 because Canes were rested.......had they lost Game 1, nobody would be this pissed off right now....but they gave us hope by blowing out Canes 6-2.....that's probably why everyone is down

after two Game 7 series, i don't think many expected much versus Canes

Better to lose now than finals I guess.
that's the Michael Jordan way of looking at things....having a 6-0 finals record is better than Lebron's 4-6 finals record......but that also means Jordan only made the finals 6 times, versus Lebron's 10-11 times ....(i still think MJ is the goat)

I'd rather we make finals, even if we lose finals in 4 games.....it's fun having hockey to watch this late in the season.....you don't get to watch Habs playoffs on a terrace in Quebec unless they go far

Its the way we are losing. We didn't expect to get totally dominated. Doesn't feel right.

By the end of the night, they had generated so few quality opportunities on the Carolina Hurricanes that they had just 14 percent of the game’s expected goals, making this not only the most lopsided game of the entire postseason — for any team — but
the second most lopsided game of 2025-26, regular season included.

I don't think Hugo ever had any illusions. Otherwise, they would have been way more desperate at the deadline, sacrificing picks for a depth d-man who can play more than 3 mins a game and an aging centre who looks like a 2nd liner if you squint enough.

As you say, this was a great info gathering run for HuGo and great experience for Marty and his players.
And frustrating as fuck. Like many things in life.

Pretty Impressive, always feels like they have an extra man on the ice. They have gotten into the heads of the boys..
They activate their D creating issues and picks and the Habs scramble. Habs activate their D and give up odd man rushes. One team is better coached. Sorry to say.
