2026 NHL UFA/Trade Thread

You're missing the part that 1) Hage might never reach this potential and 2) it would take him 3-4 years min to reach it.

Thomas is signed for 5 more years. Ideally I would keep Hage, but he's not an untouchable in a Thomas trade.
Or the part that RT might not be the answer in an over pay

Figure a way not to include MH , if we had another stud in the funnel its a different issue

The situation isnt as dire as some make it to be

Habs are 2 years ahead of schedule in an aging conference with plenty of runway ahead

There is no desperation like many other teams and we have more holes to fill besides the 2C

If there’s a team that needs to tank for Dupont it’s Seattle. They are a no-identity crap team now on the precipice of getting mauled by the Sharks and Ducks for the next decade.

Is Beniers worth a look at 2C?

Next years draft is loaded in the top 5

Doubt Seattle moves MB and not sure what more upside he has

Funny that he had a career year offensively as he goes to UFA. He’s the kind of player we need, but should be mindful about money and term.

He got a lot more ice time due to all the injuries of Florida carried through the second half of the season.

Yes, he is a UFA disaster waiting to happen if you overpay. He will remain a 20 to 30 point fourth liner with physicality and PK abilities. Pay him accordingly.

His upside is that he gets to play with Demidov. That alone adds 15-20 points.

Can’t have another year with Kapanen and Evans at 2C. Can’t. It would qualify as gross managerial incompetence.

The Flyers Athletic guy wrote that when Philly asked St Louis about Thomas, the price was “3 top of the first round assets”

For us that would be mean Hage + Reinbacher + ??

Ie. He’s not being shopped around as much as he’s being appraised
