Canes are running into the same problem they always do. Their best forwards are Aho/Svechnikov/Jarvis and Vegas are Eichel/Marner/Stone

They turned into a up & out/dump & chase team through out the entire OT's. Generated next to zero chances. Carolina's super power is their 5v5 systems play. If they abandon their system, they run face first into that problem you noted above. They just lack game breaking skill.

Have to be super careful here as we need this team to perform to make sure we sign Matthews the following offseason. We are in a shit of trouble if woll is traded, Stolarz is injured as always, and the marlies depth doesnāt pan out straight away. We watched for a decade what happens when we get league worst goaltending.

Sure, but we have a choice to make. Either trade one of Woll or Stolarz for value, risk losing Hildeby on waivers (and yes, he does have to clear waivers, he's entering his 5th pro season, 22/23 counts), or run 3 goalies.
I'm entirely down with trading Stolarz, but if we can get something similar for Woll to what we've discussed over the last day or so for him (Barrett Hayton, Jordan Spence, etc), you do it. If Stolarz can get you that type of player as well, then you have a decision to make and I'm fairly agnostic on it (Woll slightly more durable and younger, Stolarz with the higher level of play when healthy and cost controlled for longer).

Prior to last year Woll would have been been accused of being worse and less durable.
Thatās why they are the most successful when they consistently dominate puck possession, stay in the offensive zone as much as they cad, try to cycle the puck as long as possible and shoot the puck a lot from any angle. Volume shooting = more shots on goals but also many low percentage/not threatening scoring chances
Their offense is successful because of Constant Hard work, team work, puck possession and offensive pressure . They are not a team who can afford to use rope a dope/bend but not break tactics, get dominated all game but still win because they scored goals on their few scoring chances. They also donāt have the kind of elite goaltending to play that game. Andersen/Bussi very good statistics are the product/results of a great defensive system not because they often steal games for the canes with great performances
Canes are a balanced Ā« scoring by committee Ā» team not a team with 2-3 gamebreaking star forwards who can burn you at any time even thought they have not done shyt during most of the game . But forwards are with gamebreaking skill only need one or two chances to kill the opps
