I wonder if Ottawa would be inclined to deal #32 for our grab bag of CarloMaccellis to add some roster players now.

Yah FLA is gonna be a rough road this season, and you just know the league will promote & cater to the brothers’ sideshow, player safety be damned
 
Florida is going to be good, but I'm not convinced that their blueline hasn't fallen off a fair bit. Both Eklbad and Forsling took decent sized steps back last year. Can you win with Seth Jones as your best defender?
 
Mcmanns career trajectory leading into his ufa season isn’t too different than David Clarksons.

Two things to say about that is 1) buyer beware there 2) Mcmann got 5.75 and clarion 5.25. That latter is eye popping on a 64m cap

And in all seriousness, I don't think getting the last pick in the first round for Carlo is something outlandish.

In fact, it would be embarrassing if we can't get what is effectively a 2nd for him, even after the past year.

It was a massive stupid ass overpay at the time, his play has cratered and there are less and less GM's who value what he does, erm used to do.
 
This is why you can’t compete for a cup going after Brodie/Foligo/Bertuzzi/Domi/Joshua/Maccelitypes every offseason.

Last year Carolina got Miller and Ehlers, Vegas got Marner/Andersson. The best GMs just consistently try to add the best players.

Gotta love a GM that gets the best dman available. McKenna doesn’t hurt either.
 
Late 1st for 1 year of Carlo at 3.5 might look attractive to a moron gm or two. Hard to predict the number of morons who still like the player but it's not the craziest idea that lof has ever had. Many guys his caliber available as UFAs but I bet they go for more money and/or more term, so there's some value attached to that you'd think.

It's better than the Carlo, Maccelli, Rielly for 2nd overall idea
