Gustafson on top 6 is interesting.

Anderson on the slow poke line, wow. I would put Armia there and move Anderson with Suzuki.

KK: 0-points, -5, 45% faceoffs
Staal: 1-point, -2, 50% faceoffs

The simple fact of anyone trying to convince that KKs better than Staal at center - who's also at his worst right now - should be ample proof that KKs not a dynamic player for the time being. Add to that the turnovers makes him presently a liability, and doesn’t deserve to start game 1.

Hopefull when KK is dressed for game 2, he’ll have been able to recharge the mental & physical batteries during this week off, additionally a fire having been lit under his ass for being sat out of game 1, potentially translating on the ice into performance.

Conversely, I want to see how Dom Dom manages the game when Keefe inevitably w last shift puts JT out there vs Staal

If KK was still killing it defensively despite lack of offense, that would be one thing....he’s been sucking the big one defensively w lots of turnovers.

Having said all that, I also wouldn’t read to much into anything practice lineupwise ...it’s playoff time, lots of gamesmanship
 
I think they give Staal Game 1, maybe Game 2 also, and then Bergy gives DD permission to bench him if we are behind 0-2 in the series.

Watch Staal score in Game 1, and then he plays all games....

I'll give Bergy....errrrr i mean DD, the benefit of the doubt regarding the over-the-hill vets (Perry, Weber, Price, Staal, Byron) peaking in the playoffs (peaking being a very loose word here).
 
It's not insane at all, really.

Caufield has almost zero impact 5 on 5 and has... let me check... no powerplay goals so far.

And we're going in the playoffs, where teams are going to be a lot more physical and send their best lines against the us the second he's on the ice and... Yeah I really don't know why he's not going to be playing either.

I have a lot more questions about why KK isn't in the lineup.

In his first 10 NHL games his 4 goals are tied for 2nd on the team with Tofolli. His 5 points are tied for 4th with Lehkonen. His zero PPG is tied for 5th.... with the 12th most PP toi per game.

His 30 shots on goal led the team over that span.
 
The wonder also will be back,

today's practice lines, CC on 5th lol. and Andy with two turtles. so CC is worst than Byron??! So we will miss only Weber and Drouin.

What kind of agreement Staal signed with Habs is a big mystery. Yes KK struggles and i am not liking his game but don't fcking tell me he is worst than Staal. Plus P.O is a new season and the kid did well last year. Yeah i know he may eventually find his way to the line up but i bet you it will be for Evans and not Staal, Easy to sit a kid.
