Combined GDP of Qatar, UAE, & the Saudis = 1.8 Trillion, and hold about 250B combined in treasury debt from the US.

Japan alone holds 1.13 Trillion in US treasuries. China holds another Trillion. the UK 780B, Canada 430B, the entire Eurozone holds about 2 Trillion.

Combined GDP of the top ~5 debt holders = 50 Trillion

Yeah...who cares what our actual debt holders think about our credit worthiness, these other relatively small economies that aren't invested in us much at all think we're great.
 
They don’t care because all their financial plays are based on personal relationships and quid pro quos. It’s only the middle class, who needs financial markets to to function properly and transparently, who eats the downgrade. Transnational oligarchy doesn’t care.

It means better returns for them in a lot of cases.
 
Everything about this sounds exactly like what happened to my uncle a few years ago, including the hormone sensitive but. He was around 10 years younger but lived another 2.5-3 years after his diagnosis before it eventually took him. In many ways, living those 3 years probably wasn't worth it. Gonna be a rough ride. Sad.
