Since a couple of deals are, reportedly, close to being done or are already done deals, it seemed right to begin this summer's thread

Liverpool are losing Trent Alexander-Arnold, reportedly signing on a free with Real Madrid. In his stead, we are reportedly signing Jeremie Frimprong from Bayer Leverkusen (with Xabi leaving, Leverkusen will be ravaged this summer). Frimprong to Liverpool

Madrid have already confirmed the signing of Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth Huijsen to Real Madrid

Manchester United has reportedly agreed to a deal for Wolves star Matheus Cunha Matheus Cunha to Manchester United

There are also rumours Liverpool are in the final stages of signing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, with Man City also in for the young left back.

Villa have a few strong rumors with the good being the most likely signing of football manager legend Sverre Nypan. The bad is that there are very credible rumors that both Bailey (I'm fine with this) and Martinez (NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!) are about to play their last match ever for Villa with both looking likely to leave.

Losing Emi would be bad. If that happens, you should come hard for Kelleher. He needs a club where he can get first team run outs regularly.

There's a few rumblings that he's on Villa's list along with some similarly placed keepers on the continent. It worked with Martinez, after all. He was being held hostage on the Arsenal bench when Villa got him on the cheap.

Other reported transfers done/close
  1. Liam Delap from Ipswich to Chelsea for £30M (Liam Delap story)
  2. Matheus Cunha is leaving Wolves for ManU (Matheus Cunha to ManU)
  3. Arsenal in advanced talks for Benjamin Sesko from Leipzig (Arsenal pursuing Sesko)
  4. Liverpool also in advanced talks to bring over another Leverkusen player, Florian Wirtz. The Kerkez deal is supposedly imminent. (Liverpool bid for Florian Wirtz)
Arsenal also said to be talking to bring in Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting, while our Milos Kerkez deal is not yet done but is reportedly close. If we bring in Wirtz and Kerkez on top of Frimprong, I'm a happy man. If the rumours (which seem far more in the rumour stage than anything else "crystallizing") that they're hot after Hugo Ekitiké from Eintracht are true, I'll be beside myself. But he's been linked with a number of clubs recently, including Arsenal and Chelsea.

If Chelsea's continual buying of whatever the new available player means that Nicolas Jackson is available on the cheap, I'd be more than happy for Villa to take him off their hands. Played well under Emery already, perfect understudy for Watkins. He obviously still need to improve his finishing, but that's something you can work on.

Yeah, but talking to my Chelsea friends the other day, I understand he's also had an attitude problem. On and off the pitch. Wouldn't wish that on you.

Latest rumours/"signings"

Arsenal add 'keeper: Arsenal are signing Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea. The Gunners will activate his £5-million release clause, and the Spaniard is prepared to battle David Raya for a starting place. (The Athletic)
Ait-Nouri deal complete: Manchester City reached an agreement to sign Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolves for close to €40 million. The 23-year-old will undergo medical tests this weekend before completing his transfer. (Fabrizio Romano)

Jobe Bellingham leaves newly promoted Sunderland for Dortmund for £33 million with another £5 million in add-ons.

Chelsea signed center back Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg for €14 million, a deal that was agreed in January

USMNT keeper Matt Turner is leaving Nottingham Forest for Lyon in a deal worth £8 million. He spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace. Since joining Arsenal in 2022, he’s only played 31 club matches, 17 of them in the Premier League in 2023-24 for Forest. His other appearances have been in the FA and League Cups and he played 5 Europa League matches for Arsenal in 2022-23.

I mean, Jackie's always going to be a club legend but he was always going to age poorly because of ... ummm ... his dedication to having fun off the pitch. I'd prefer to remember him in his prime, honestly.
