GDT | Game #20 | vs Crapitals | Thursday, November 20th 7:00 PM EST

As I used to say to all the Price naysayers .. “pedigree is everything”

Fowler’s performed on the big stage: USHL, NCAA, WJC and he was drafted specifically for his elite mental fortitude trait

The concept of development is a bullsh*t red herring, only fringe players are developed at AHL in the modern age - if a young player possesses an elite trait, they are “developed” w their NHL team
Is there any goalie in the league that hasn't spent significant time in the AHL?

Define "significant"?

Connor Hellebuyck played 88 games across 2 seasons in the AHL. Is that significant?

Igor Shesterkin only played 25 AHL games.

Jake Oettinger played 44.
Conner had two seasoned vets , Igor had Lundqvist, Jake had Khudobin, Price only played 2 regular games then had that great 22 game run in the playoffs with the bulldogs, the next season the habs traded Huet and ran with Price and Halak and we all know what happened then , most fans wanted to run Price out of the City, including Habsy :) .. point being, are you willing to have Fowler backed up by Monty of Dobes..

Minimum 40-50 games, the equivalent of a full season for a goaltender.

Oettinger played 54 AHL games.

Shesterkin is a bit different as he already had almost 5 KHL seasons under his belt and was clearly too strong for the AHL.

I don't know if Fowler is the guy to go with or not. I don't know if he's actually any good either. But I think back to Roy's first year (basically a teenager), Dryden's first year (yes, slightly older). Our goaltending wasn't all that good, so we tried the new guy. Tom Barasso came out of high school.

Not sure if any of that is relevant or not.

It's relevant in that no two individuals are exactly the same, so to apply these ultra-rigid standards uniformly is kind of silly.
