On late Friday, Natural Resources Minister Tim Hodgson promised that Canada would contribute 23.6 million barrels as a part of the IEA’s plan to have oil-producing countries release an unprecedented 400 million barrels.

The Natural Resources Minister’s office told Global News the increase in Canada oil is not a part of any emergency production. Instead, the additional barrels will come from already planned increases to production from Alberta’s oil sands.

Canada produced on average 5.3 million barrels per day of crude oil in 2025, according to the Canada Energy Regulator, making the upcoming production jump a 2.6 per cent increase in Canadian supply.

Majority of Canadians Disapprove of US Military Strike Against Iran

New Ipsos polling for Global News reveals Canadian disapproval (61%) of the US military action against Iran, with 42% strongly disapproving. Only one in four (23%) approve (8% strongly/15% somewhat), while 16% are unsure either way. Concerns about potential Canadian involvement are high, with 66% expressing fear that Canada will be pulled into this war and the lives of our soldiers will be at risk. Notably, just 32% think the war in Iran will be over in a couple of months, with more (41%) disagreeing and a substantial portion (28%) who aren't sure either way.

Terry Fox was 3 years younger than me (I'm 71). I had previously gotten a B.Comm and was in 2nd year Engineering at the UofA when he did his run. He was just a kid(23 years old). Extraordinary courage, a real tough nut. I've donated yearly since then, the Terry Fox Foundation has very low admin costs and is one of the best places to donate for cancer research.

He did, but when staunchly anti immigrant people currently in their 40's are whinging on Facebook in 20 years about how their co pay for their hip replacement is more than they can afford and we can clearly point back to the population malaise of the late 2020's as to why we ended up with a hybrid health care system, well, fuck them in their idiot faces.

The rational response from the voting public should have been "hey, how about we fix these programs that are letting in too many under educated people from one specific place in the world instead of raging and burning down the whole system over two abused programs (one conservative, one liberal) that created this imbalance?"

Yep, that and housing being unaffordable for many.

Again, stop corporate ownership of residential housing, limit offshore money being parked in real estate and build housing that people can actually live in (6 ft wide, 6 story towns or 350 ft condos and not long term liveable)

All rational stuff that the whinging crowd will never talk about having been the real problem that took 30-40 years of neglect from all of us, because it's harder than blaming brown people.
