Realistically? Maybe a more frequent in/out rotation for some services and better/cheaper transit links for others.

I mean...yellowknife, which is a medium sized town more than a small city itself, is fucking far from everything and these communities are 2 hr flights from there. There are limits to what services are going to be available when you choose to live in your traditional inuit hunting grounds on islands frozen 10 months of the year.

Well, as always, I appreciate your notes and time and have tucked the information into my hip pocket for future reference. My "sticks" vs. y'all's far north is. . .almost laughable. Almost. Driving 10 miles to a fucking meat locker vs. riding a fucking horse 20 miles to deliver an important message - you get the idea.

When I reread the article, I realized that my reference to "nearby" was in regards to the proposed plan to make Cambridge Bay itself one of the new military centers. I get the distances thing in y'all's far north, and all that that implies. I was remiss for not being clear that I was (trying to) speak to this specific instance. So smack me one for being a bit obtuse and lacking in clarity. I'm still with the locals on this one. 😊

Eh, he's just preaching western grievance and his typical "liberal bad" bullshit.

If this was an oil pipeline instead of something that makes actual people's lives better, he'd be all for it.
