Yeah, the early concern here, looking at his statcast stuff is the low contact rates both on pitches in and out of the zone. He's not swinging at a high enough percentage of pitches in zone and when he's swinging, isn't creating enough contact. For example, guys like Vlad, prime Springer, Bo, etc are in the 85-91% contact rate on swings at pitches in zone. Kaz is sitting at 76.5%. Contact levels at pitches out of the zone have a wider range (surprise, Vladdy is a high end bad ball hitter because of course he is). But you're looking at 50%-65% type stuff. Kaz is sitting at 24%.

What he catches up to he's beating the shit out of, but he's missing way too much
