OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Lauer deserved it, but man we're short SP now.

Do they think Miles can actually start? or is Bieber ready to start rehab? or are they liking what they're seeing from Chad Dallas enough?

or a bit of all of the above?

I do wonder if they simply think that Dallas/Macko/Miles/Opener is better than Lauer ( i dont think they are wrong)

Lauer earned this DFA not just because he was pitching like shit, but the attitude that he carried with it.

I dont suspect any of Bieber/Berrios/Max are particularily close.

Yariel and Miles in theory are both bulk inning dudes that work as openers/junk inning guys and right now are better options than Lauer.

I wouldn't be surprised if a Macko or Dallas was added for Lauer's next turn as well

God bless Patrick Corbin, i guess, noted terrible pitcher whos keeping us in games and eating innings

Cease/Gausman/Yesavage/Corbin/?????

Probably good enough to keep us competitive until guys come back or we make a trade, but im more worrieda bout the offense going forward tbh.

Vlad needs to be much better, Kirk needs to get back, Springer needs to find himself, and the RHH on our bench need to either be better or replaced.

That is shocking. Lauer was so good last year.

But I could see him saying he didn't want to be coming in after some other guy gets 1-2 innings to start would rub the team the wrong way in that he was not "willing to do anything to help the team". At the same time, I also fully agree with him that there's no reason why someone else should start an inning and then he comes in.

Prior to last year of Lauer being good he was exactly a dogshit pitcher who had never been good either in the MLB or overseas.

He was an experimental dude with shit stuff ( and apparantly an ego) who found lightning in a bottle.

And if you want to know what the Jays really thought about him, they signed a 41 year old Max to come back and bump him to the pen, and took him to arby. I dont think they really had any faith on him being an actual thing.

Him being a pain in the ass bitch boy probably surprised them.

Ive heard the Giants are maybe ready to pull the plug and jettison some expensive contracts off their roster

I'd be really tempted to find a way to make Rafael Devers fit if that was a contract dump, but it's a challenge.

I'd probably overpay for Robbie Ray to get him back as a rental.
