it was total domination last night6-2 was not indicative of the play. We were fortunate tonight to capitalize on our opportunites, but I didn't like parts of our game all that much. Our weak backhand clearing attempts, too many clean zone entries and straight on opportunities for Buffalo. Without Dobes remarkable work, it could have all fallen to pieces early in the third. ...but I did like our push up front. Need to be a little tighter-last 10 minutes we were.
Maybe good teams win games like that, warts and all.

Everyone seems to think so except me, so that should tell me something I guess. I just thought there were moments when it could have taken a bad turn, particularly early in the third, and Dobes was there. I guess I have to get used to a different style of hockey, where we trade chances. Maybe that will work with this team, most nights. It did last night. It certainly did in the 1970s.it was total domination last night
Excellent post. I was going to write about the exact same about Texier. Protecting the puck well in the offensive zone, not giving up on it, making stuff out of nothing. Didn't figure he would maintain that either in the playoffs., and he was doing it in the Tampa series as well.I've been pleasantly surprised by the play of Texier in the playoffs so far, I thought he'd be the type to disappear but he's winning a lot of battle out there and he's really good at maintaining possession in the offensive zone.
Bolduc, Dach, Newhook, Carrier, Anderson, bunch of support guys have been elevating their play in the playoffs so far. Our first line has been the weakest, which is really weird, it feels like momentum always shift against them.
Two things can be true, and you’re right, there has been moments where it definitely could have taken a turn, early 3rd especially, and Dobes had to stand tall, but I think that’s to be expected, There is no bad teams left, there will be push back every game and we’ll have to weather the storm.Everyone seems to think so except me, so that should tell me something I guess. Ya. Sabres played well to start the third. But they had to push and the Habs didn't break.Everyone seems to think so except me, so that should tell me something I guess. Our bottom 6 has been phenomenal and carries our offenceI've been pleasantly surprised by the play of Texier in the playoffs so far, I thought he'd be the type to disappear but he's winning a lot of battle out there and he's really good at maintaining possession in the offensive zone.

I'm still confused about Bolduc getting 4 mins for getting beat up
There’s also the point of view that they are good enough to overcome short spurts of bad play. Two things can be true, and you’re right, there has been moments where it definitely could have taken a turn, early 3rd especially, and Dobes had to stand tall, but I think that’s to be expected, There is no bad teams left, there will be push back every game and we’ll have to weather the storm.
But I felt like the first two periods were so dominant that it could have easily been 6-1 after 2, but it was 4-2 and Sabres came out swinging in the third until we broke them.
He has exceeded expectations for sure.I've been pleasantly surprised by the play of Texier in the playoffs so far, I thought he'd be the type to disappear but he's winning a lot of battle out there and he's really good at maintaining possession in the offensive zone.

Hopefully Cole's goal will open the floodgates for him....and Demi has been playing much better recently, so hopefully he starts rolling also![]()
