We can always hang a Corsi championship banner if nothing else.Agreed
That’s what make it frustrating tho

the frustrating thing is watching the games that are almost enjoyably fantastic but always suffer a bad third act and end predictably
The question is whether it’s the same players who keep screwing up, over and over. They undo the advanced stats and are seemingly incorrigible.
A certain group of Habs has a persistent history of making plainly avoidable bonehead plays, and it’s not clear to me they have the capacity to resolve this.
I would say that Lane was the first offender in yesterday’s debacle. Not for the first time this year either. Of course he does way more good and he gets so much ice time, so he’ll never be error-free… However, I think his lack of situational awareness will be corrected.
And we've been without Demidov... And Matheson.i love the way the Habs are playing...but the self inflicted wounds are annoying
like driving the field for 70 yards and then fumbling the ball
Two-goal lead in the 3rd? Dump it, get pucks deep.
And DobesAnd we've been without Demidov... And Matheson.
Ya. Not sure what he was doing either.Exactement.
I doubt we see Lane make that mistake in a year or two. On that play, Dobsappointment also let the team down. Why did he suddenly decide to attack the shooter when Dobes was square to the shooter and Lane was closing in on him.
Make a bet? There are games that we lose through sheer stupidity and for some reason they stick with me.Nobody will remember this game in three weeks. It's October hockey.
One regulation win. One.Agreed. The team is actually controlling the play. I'm happy about that and the rest will work itself out.
Exactement.

Advance stats are a peak into the future. One regulation win. One.
Advanced stats are nice security blankets but one regulation win…
With Lalonde having come in to tweak the defensive aspect(s) of the Habs game…. game to game micro level analysis of the teams game won’t tell the story.
It will take 25-30GP at least before any conclusions can be drawn on trends
As predictedHe will be out 4 weeks with an upper body injury.
