Around the League 2019-2026 Edition

if any Jet fans were there, I doubt they left early

you milk every second on the road
Unfortunately, that's not been my experience over here.

Every time there's a clear winner, whoever I'm with wants to leave early to get out of the stadium.

There was no clearer winner than the Habs last night. If the Leafs were down 4-0 with 3 minutes to go against the Kings, I wouldn't resist my guest's desire to get out of there early.

I hear ya. Guests suck. I never leave early, ever.

I know crazy comebacks are rare (I've experienced at least two) but the potential regret is too high vs the modest benefit of getting home 30 mins earlier

We never leave early. We've stayed through the end of a 9-0 win and a 9-0 loss and everything in between. We leave after the 1st Star interview if we win, or right at the final horn if we lose.

Yeah, I'm with you. Especially if it's the Leafs, where they only play here once a year and I want to just stay. But what can I do, I'm usually with people who don't care about the outcome.

I was at the 18 inning Jays loss in the World Series last year. Except I had to leave in the 12th because the guy I was with (I was his guest) brought his two young sons and they had school the next day. I got home in time to watch like 2 more hours of painful baseball before we lost. In retrospect, I was spared by leaving early that night, but under normal circumstances, I won't want to leave any Leafs game early. Other teams, eh, I won't put up much of a fight if the other person wants to leave early.

I dunno.

@thehabhater , can you explain how “tagging” works again, please?
Chat GPT pulled this from Puckpedia

In the NHL, the tagging rule (governing "tagging room" or "tagged payroll room") is a regulation that limits how much future-season salary cap commitments a team can take on relative to the current season's upper limit. It prevents teams from overloading future payrolls or stacking long-term contracts in a way that would make them accidentally or intentionally non-compliant with the salary cap in upcoming years

A team can have plenty of room under the current season's salary cap, yet still be choked out of making a trade, signing an extension, or calling up a two-way player if they have hit their 10% ceiling for the following year.
