I understand the part where this is a dispute between Canada & the IIHF, where Hockey Canada has its own trademarked logos & jersey designs and their own jersey deal with Bauer.

And that the IIHF recently signed a deal with some company called “True Hockey” that gives them exclusive rights to supply and sell all of the national team jerseys for IIHF tournaments.

So, sure. Hockey Canada doesn’t want to give up its trademarks or jersey deal with Bauer to the IIHF’s company. But why wouldn’t the IIHF/True Hockey at least come up with their own design that doesn’t look like a dogshit beer league practice jersey? Just deliberate punishment to Hockey Canada for not playing ball & letting them use and profit off Hockey Canada’s trademarks?

Ok sorry I’ll rephrase. Why did the iihf women’s official instagram account think a full body shot that makes the U.S. player look like Gru was a good idea for a “first look”
