If they bring him back for cheaper, that's fine. Whatever a pure defensive replacement outfielder actually costs.
But I really don't think they need him, and should aim higher.

He wasnt worth 8M, not even close.
I'd prefer Tyrone Taylor or Lane Thomas as a RHH CF friend for Bateman, they provide good enough defense, and can actually hit LHP.
If they want to go vibes based friend Straw, it should be at half the cost. I wont love it, but i wont lose my mind either
They do need to do a better job with hitting LHP off the bench though and Schneider and Straw were the problem there. It's plausable Santander helps in that regard

That said, this front office has never been emotional about players and i'm not sure why that would change now.
Alot of people are penciling Gausman back, and Straw cheaper. Its possible but far from a guarantee
Guasman in particular, they might want to aim for better, younger, or cheaper, and there is an absolute glut of 3/4 SP FA, i'd wait out this market i think

I dont think he's tradeable.
For a variety of very different reasons i think the Jays should act as if neither Santander or Barger are going to get OF reps this coming season.
Bateman probably needs a friend, Lukes takes up one corner, a big FA/trade the other, then add a RHH Straw/Straw replacement, and probably Davis upgrade.

Its there one clear blunder, and im almost convinced they kinda did it against their will cause of the complaint about the power outage. He's not really their style.
Now were entering an offseason with the same demands.

That would be Ken Dayley. In 3 seasons, he pitched in 10 games, won 2 World Series, and sat in the front car for the parade.
